BEFORE
One of the best ways that a small business can keep their name in front of the public is via a vehicle wrap, whether it is for a delivery truck, car or pick-up truck. Quite often a small business owner, in particular, finds themselves strapped to find that perfect venue in which to advertise or their building sign is somewhat moot as they are located in a business park or off the beaten path where possible customers simply do not see their building. This is especially true for those who don’t have walk-in businesses or perhaps work from their homes.
How to solve that kind of a problem? A car or truck wrap is a great way to get the message out. Considering the cost of monthly advertising or fliers or the like, a vehicle wrap is a one-time charge. An even more economical way is to go a partial wrap or perhaps just advertise logos, phone numbers, website and a short message on the vehicle.
How much does an advertisement cost your business on a monthly basis? $50? $100? $250? Could you spend a few or several thousand dollars on a full wrap? Sure, but it is a one-time spend. Weigh that against a less effective monthly ad. Depending upon the type of wrap or lettering one chooses for a vehicle with no design involved, a business could easily reach more consumers with views of their mobile on-the-vehicle ad in the course of the same advertising period than in other forms of advertising. And most significantly is the fact that this can be done with a one-time payment good for many years!
If one outfits a truck or a car with something simple like the company name, phone number and website, the awareness factor for the company just went way up with each trip out on the road. Add a tag line or photo of just what your business is about and now you have an effective ad. Toss in a lot of color or design to grab the eye, and you have yourself an outstanding ad.
We had the great fortune to work with RoofRoof, a local roofing company, to begin the rejuvenation of their fleet of trucks. RoofRoof locally was Findlay Roofing and some trucks reflected that but the company wanted to get focused on a clear message on just who the company is and what it is they do. The logo is unforgettable, the color of the trucks, the multiple certifications and their tailgate message that they have replaced more than 50,000 roofs.
AFTER
The issue RoofRoof had was the current vinyl which had been on these work hard trucks for about 7 years. While the sides were not in as tough condition, the vinyl on the hoods of the trucks were cracked and in bad shape. At this point, I’d like to note that even the best suppliers of vinyl won’t warranty even the very best vinyl products beyond a 3-year period on the hood or roof of a vehicle – especially in our South Carolina sunshine. One certainly doesn’t have to use the best vinyl, but when considering the time it will be on a vehicle and wanting to keep it looking good for a long time it is worth the comparatively small extra cost. Figuring a wrap life of 7 to 8 years or less is a good benchmark, at least for current vinyl products out there. How one takes care of the product is the other issue (just like keeping the paint looking good, frequent and proper washing helps. Power washing is not a good thing for a wrap or automotive paint! )
Another wonderful feature of wraps is that they will help preserve the original paint job of the vehicle. If you are business owner and wish to lease vehicles only to turn them back in after a fixed period, the wraps can help you turn in a car or truck that looks as beautiful as the day you got it. Remove the wrap, turn-in and voila, it is like a new paint job!
While there are a number of reasons to wrap or partially wrap or simply do some lettering on commercial vehicles; this fast growing effective area is evidenced on a daily basis by the numerous delivery, service, sales or other vehicles that we see in their vinyl glory.
And it’s another discussion, but personal vehicles can become unique using a partial or complete wrap.
Think about it and then call us. We can walk you through the process and help you decide what is right for you. And that is the tail end of this blog. That about wraps it up…..okay no more puns…………
